Troubleshooting Windows

The first thing to check for when you are experiencing window problems is proper installation. The Jeld-Wen website has a how-to guide for general installation inspection tips. The guide lists problems, possible causes, remedies, and product type in a troubleshooting chart. For example, if the frame is out of plumb, level or square, or if it is warped, twisted or bowed, contact your installer or contractor. If the sash is not square or is twisted, contact your dealer or a contractor. Do not attempt to apply the remedies offered in the guide unless the product has been properly installed. (The site includes a glossary of window-related terms, so you can be sure you are on track with recommendations like these.)
