InterNACHI® and TPREIA Complete Merger: Press Release

TPREIA Merges with InterNACHI^®

BOULDER, Colo. (Jan. 23, 2020) – InterNACHI^® is excited to announce that it has finalized plans for TPREIA – the Texas Professional Real Estate Inspectors Association – to merge with the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors. 

The culmination of almost two years of negotiations between InterNACHI^® Founder Nick Gromicko and TPREIA Founder Paul Roebuck and Brenda Roebuck, TPREIA’s President and Executive Director, this merger between the largest state association of home inspectors and the largest national association of home inspectors means that TPREIA has essentially been legally absorbed into InterNACHI^®, including its members and intellectual property.  

“We’ve collaborated throughout the years with TPREIA on local conventions in an effort to boost their signal and promote our Texas members,” says Gromicko.  “This merger just makes sense, and it will give TPREIA’s 1,500 members enhanced and expanded access to free education and benefits.  It’s a huge win all the way around.”

Adds Roebuck, “The Texas Real Estate Commission shows about 3,500 TREC-licensed home inspectors in Texas. Our goal is to have all of them become our members.  Our associations are so awesome that all inspectors should be members!”

Most of InterNACHI’s Texas members already belong to one of the five Texas InterNACHI^® Chapters, where the incoming TPREIA members – currently spread across ten chapters – will find additional support.

“TPREIA is excited to make this formal merger with InterNACHI^®,” continues Roebuck, “and we look forward to great things for all of our members. We appreciate everything that Nick and everyone at InterNACHI^® have done to make this merger complete.”

This merger makes the third deal in recent years that Gromicko has successfully brokered that has resulted in increased membership and expanded content.  InterNACHI's acquisition of NAHI – the National Association of Home Inspectors – was completed in 2018.  At the beginning of this year, InterNACHI^® also purchased SPREI, the Society of Professional Real Estate Inspectors.

Gromicko and the Roebucks intend to record a video for TPREIA inspectors that will anticipate their questions about their InterNACHI^® membership moving forward so that their transition across associations is seamless and positive.  The State of Texas approved the merger.

"In Texas, we do everything big," says Roebuck. "And at InterNACHI®, we do everything better," says Gromicko.  "This merger makes us both bigger and better."
