PORTSMOUTH, NH: Boston Environmental is very pleased to announce that InterNACHI has
approved the Company's training for 3 CEU credits. Boston Environmental offers
its TankSure® Program technology to the home inspection and oil heat industries.
The process includes the Company's EPA approved testing technology.
Mike Hatch, President of Boston Environmental, said, "The importance of this
technology and it's availability to home inspectors relates directly to the quality
of service offered to home buyers with an above ground oil tank and the liability
reduction component that extends to everybody in the real estate transaction process."
The test and inspection is non-invasive and takes only 15 minutes.
The process is also being recommended by some major insurance companies, including
ING. Due to liability reduction associated with the testing and inspection process,
ING offers homeowners in Canada a 5% discount on their homeowner policies if they
have had their tanks tested and inspected. Hatch said, "Look for a similar benefit
to homeowners in the United States before the end of this year."
The technology and overall process has changed the standard for inspecting and
replacing residential above ground heating oil tanks. Historically all of these
tanks leaked before they were replaced. The ultrasonic testing technology provides
the basis for proactive replacements. "This is why it is so important to have
an engineering standard that is approved by the EPA and API (American Petroleum
Institute), and a process and technology supported by insurance giants like ING."
Hatch said.
Nick Gromicko, InterNACHI's founder and Executive Director, said, "The Program is
a positive change for our Industry. InterNACHI members who choose to offer the service,
which includes the testing equipment, education credits, and access to the tank
analysis database, will receive a 20% discount on the "start-up" cost."
