The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) is offering a free 8 hour course on inspecting HVAC systems. This HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) course is open to everyone. You need not be a member of InterNACHI to attend.
When: Friday, December 5th, 2003 from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm and Saturday, December 6th, 2003 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Where: The Northwest HVAC Training Center, 811 E. Sprague Avenue, #6, Spokane, Washington. Map.
Cost: NO CHARGE to InterNACHI members. Non-members: $125 (yes, you can apply the $125 toward membership if you want to join later).
This course will identify components and their functions within gas, electric forced air, and oil furnaces. Topics include inspecting the combustion chamber, oil burner, heat exchanger. Inspecting gas valves, piping, drip legs and safety devices. Checking venting, ducting, flues, and combustion air. Recognizing flame characteristics. Performing exhaust gas evaluations. Locating leaks. Inspecting electronic filters.
A test of the student's knowledge will be given at the end of the course. Attendees receive a certificate of completion and attendance counts as 8 hours toward InterNACHI member continuing education requirements.
