Brick Veneer

Brick veneer bonded with Thinset to cement board coated with bonding agent, installed over Tyvek.

Lower Section

Observation

Inadequate clearance from grade: 4” from soil/2” from grade.

No weep screed installed to allow moisture drainage.

Observation

Some bricks have no mortar joint at the inside corner.

Thinset used as mortar.

Brick veneer traps the window frame making removal more complicated and expensive than if it were properly installed.

Upper Section
