The House of Horrors® 2 is an entire house with a thousand defects built inside the PRO-LAB® Headquarters in Weston, Florida. The House of Horrors® 2 was specifically built to incorporate defects that a home inspector might find in homes in states east of the Mississippi River. 

Advance Your Skills

Dennis Bonner, CMI®

Certified Master Inspector® Dennis Bonner is a licensed home inspector, certified general contractor, and an InterNACHI-Certified Home Inspector.  He is president of Florida Insurance Inspection, Inc., a full-service inspection company serving Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. He performs Windstorm Inspections, 4-Point Inspections, Roof Condition Certifications, Condominium Inspections, insurance valuations and appraisals, and Pre-Purchase Home Inspections on a daily basis.  Dennis's bilingual staff prides itself on providing prompt, courteous and professional service to all of their valued customers.  To date, they have completed more than 30,000 inspections.

Kenton Shepard, CMI®

After spending over 30 years in residential and light commercial construction as a carpenter and contractor, Kenton became a home inspector in 2001 and an InterNACHI® member in 2004. He is the author of three English-Spanish construction phrasebooks (published by the NAHB), as well as numerous articles and online and video courses for InterNACHI®, including its Green Building Inspection and Log Home Inspection courses, along with several residential roof inspection video courses. He is also the author of InterNACHI's Library of Inspection Narratives, a set of home inspection field guides, and a report-writing guide (available through Inspector Outlet and www.hinarratives.com).  A Certified Master Inspector®, Kenton serves as InterNACHI's Director of Green Building and Director of International Development, and is the designer and builder of InterNACHI’s two House of Horrors®.

Mark Cohen, J.D., LL.M.

Mark Cohen earned his BA in Economics at Whitman College in Washington in 1980, and received his law degree from the University of Colorado in 1983.  From 1983 to 1987, he served as a Judge Advocate (JAG) in the U.S. Air Force, and as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney.  In 1986, he won the American Bar Association's Outstanding Young Military Service Lawyer Award.  For nearly 10 years, Mark worked in litigation and bankruptcy matters throughout Nebraska.  He returned to Colorado in 1995 and served 18 months as a Municipal Judge for the City of Boulder, and sat on the Executive Board of the Colorado Municipal League.  He has appeared on MSNBC, the Today Show, the Jimmy Kimmel Show, and several other national programs. An accomplished writer, Mark has published six articles in the American Jurisprudence Proof of Facts series, including one on "Piercing the Corporate Veil," as well as several articles for InterNACHI® on legal matters affecting home inspectors.  He also drafts contract templates for members, which incorporate plain English in an effort to minimize legalese.  Mark has been InterNACHI’s General Counsel since 2005.   

Nick Gromicko, CMI®

Nick Gromicko is the Founder of InterNACHI®, the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors. InterNACHI® is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, and is the world’s largest association of property inspectors with one of the largest websites on the Internet. Nick is also the Executive Director of the Master Inspector Certification Board which administers Certified Master Inspector® (CMI®), the inspection industry's highest professional designation. Dan Galapo

Dan has lived in South Florida for over 18 years since moving here from Brooklyn, New York in 1996. He obtained his real estate license in 2004 and has been a full time top producing Realtor every year of his career. His focus is in the Broward, Palm Beach, and Northern Dade County’s with an extensive list of satisfied customers. When not working, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife Jaime and daughter Leyah, and golfing with colleagues, friends, and clients.
