Home Inspection Checklist for Submitting Mock Inspection Reports

Inspection Report Writing Checklist

Step #1:

Perform four mock (or simulated) home inspections. A mock inspection is performed for no fee and according to InterNACHI's Home Inspection Standards of Practice. Each of the four inspections could be performed on your own home, apartment, a friend's home, another inspector's home, etc. Mock reports must be completed using the Inspection Report Writing Checklist below. We cannot accept reports completed using third-party report writing software.

Step #2:

Write and submit four mock inspection reports using InterNACHI's free, online inspection report writing checklist. The reports will be verified for compliance with the Home Inspection Standards of Practice.

Troubleshooting:

If you are having issues with the inspection checklist, please try the following:
  1. Save the report every few pages, as it is rather long and this will allow you to resume from where you left off.
  2. Clear your browser's cache and cookies and try again from the beginning.
  3. Complete the report using Chrome's Incognito Mode or try using a different browser such as Firefox.
  4. If the issues continue, please contact InterNACHI's tech support at fastreply@internachi.org.
