Nick Gromicko is an author and activist for the inspection industry and a speaker at dozens of inspection events every year. In 1990, he founded
InterNACHI®, the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors, which is the world's largest inspector trade association, with more than 24,000 members, which provides training, benefits and professional support.
The InterNACHI® School is the only home inspector school accredited by the U.S. Department of Education.
InterNACHI® hosts more than 500 events a year and provides certified and accredited training and education to inspectors, as well as hundreds of free benefits and ongoing peer support. InterNACHI's website is 275,000+ pages and receives 100 million visits per year, and provides a free-speech message board that is the most active on the Internet. InterNACHI® also hosts an additional 4,000 inspection-related websites.
Gromicko also spearheaded the creation of the
House of Horrors®, which is a unique training facility especially for home inspectors. A full-size house with a thousand defects purposely built in, the HOH allows inspectors to take live classes led by Certified Master Inspectors®, during which they tour the house and locate and discuss various defects, and learn how to report them properly. A second House of Horrors® is located in Weston, Florida, and a third is planned for the Philadelphia area. The HOH is also open to student groups and real estate professionals to help them understand the structure, systems and components of a typical house.
Nick has also founded a number of nonprofits, including
Cozy Coats for Kids®, which gives brand-new winter coats to children in their favorite color, and is funded primarily by donations from property inspectors.
Aside from managing the day-to-day operations at InterNACHI's headquarters in Boulder, Colorado, Gromicko has been on a national and international tour promoting his latest book, How to Run a Successful Home Inspection Business, presenting specific marketing techniques to sold-out audiences of home inspectors who want to dominate their market.
