FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Home Inspector-Member Prevails in Lawsuit
BOULDER, Colo. (April 27, 2018) – InterNACHI® Founder Nick Gromicko was recently deposed in a lawsuit against member Blake Donofrio of Top Notch Inspectors, LLC, located in Plantation, Florida, which resulted in a favorable settlement for the home inspector.
“There are standards of practice, and then there are standards of care. You are all about the standards of care,” Donofrio said to Gromicko. “InterNACHI® and Nick Gromicko guide and defend our brotherhood so that we have the knowledge to empower our profession.”
Although the terms of the lawsuit and settlement are confidential, Donofrio expressed gratitude that Gromicko, whom he has not personally met, volunteered to sit for the two-hour deposition via video conference, which Donofrio said was “instrumental” in settling his lawsuit.
Gromicko responded by saying, “I’ve always seen my role as the founder of InterNACHI® to be an advocate for home inspectors in general and for our members in particular. If I can ever be of service, I consider it my duty.”
“It's an honor to be a part of InterNACHI®,” said Donofrio. “Having someone like Nick, who is willing to help when you need them, is priceless.”
InterNACHI® General Counsel Mark Cohen attended the deposition, as well, and, like Gromicko, did not charge any fee for his time.
