Inspecting Portable Fire Extinguishers Course

Objectives:
- Communicate to clients in general terms Paragraph 7.1 of the NFPA 10;
- Describe the requirement for the location of the extinguisher;
- Describe the requirement for access of the extinguisher;
- Operate effectively typical residential fire extinguisher;
- Locate the nameplate on the extinguisher;
- Inspect and identify damage on the extinguisher;
- Determine the level of fullness of the extinguisher;
- Determine the pressure by reading the gauge;
- Confirm that the inspection label is in place;
- Inspect for damage at the hose; and
- Document the inspection tag with initials and the date.
