PA Home Inspector Regulations

To become a licensed home inspector in Pennsylvania, Chapter 75 of the PA Title 68 Real and Personal Property Statute requires the following:

Become a full member of a national home inspection association. Join InterNACHI®.
Pass InterNACHI's accredited Online Inspector Exam (free & online).
Comply with the Code of Ethics and Home Inspection Standards of Practice.
Take Continuing Education courses (free & online for members).
Maintain GL and E&O insurance. Check InterNACHI's Home Inspector Insurance.
Send to education@internachi.org a list of 100 addresses of inspections you've "performed or participated in." Don't send the reports, just the list.

Become a Certified Radon Tester in PA (free & online for members)

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) has required radon certification since 1988. Radon certification must be obtained before any person conducts radon testing, radon mitigation, or radon laboratory analysis in PA. To become PA/DEP-Certified, Pennsylvania requires an individual to complete an NRPP- or NRSB-approved radon course and exam. For details and forms, visit the PA DEP's website.
