New York InterNACHI

June 24th, New York Chapter Meeting.

Lorraine Hutton (pictured above), Director of the Home Inspection Consumer Action Group (HICAG), warns New York inspectors about ASHI's brand of licensing legislation which enslaves home inspectors and hurts consumers.  "Don't let ASHI do what they tried to do in New Jersey.  New York Inspectors have to get involved in the fight," said Hutton.  Membership in HICAG is free.

Member Ted Cuttitta of the National Chimney Sweep Guild offered tips on inspecting chimneys, liners, flues, heatilators, and wood stoves.  "Every chimney should have a cap," said Cuttitta.

Member Larry Ott announced that 1,180 of his FHA certified inspectors have decided to join InterNACHI.  "We're bringing a bus of 30 FHA inspectors to next month's NYNACHI meeting," said Ott.

Chapter Co-Founder Patsy Maietta decided that NYNACHI has outgrown our usual restaurant/bar and that we need a bigger place to meet.  He will announce our new meeting place soon.

NYNACHI meetings are open to all inspectors regardless of association affiliation.  Everyone is welcome.  Dinner, drinks, desserts, and fun... as usual.

Watch the message board (open to all) for further announcements, dates, and directions.
