InterNACHI is pleased to announce a partnership with the National Association of Minority Home Inspectors (NAMI). NAMI is an excellent resource for new inspectors as the industry welcomes more inspectors of all different backgrounds. NAMI will be able to provide resources and guidance specific to minority home inspectors and InterNACHI looks forward to creating events and materials that elevate the home inspection industry for all. NAMI and InterNACHI encourage all inspectors with relevant experience to join the Mentoring Program to help guide newcomers to the industry.
From Co-founders Bobbi Benavides and Fedor Cardozo,
"73.5% of the Home Inspectors in the United States are white. It is an industry that was built on generations of families teaching a trade to their children. Grandpa started a home inspection company, then dad went into the business, then son and so on, however, most of these men were white. The clear disproportion of minority vs white members in the home inspection industry is alarming. That is why, Bobbi Benavides (Owner of Bobbi B Your Realtor LLC.), and Fedor Cardozo (Owner of Inspectics, LLC) decided to make it their mission to bring more minorities to the industry by creating NAMHI, which will train and help certify new home inspectors in the market. It is time to make this profession, with an average $58K Salary, available to everyone.
NAMHI plans on reaching out to minority communities, and minority home inspectors to assist them in their home inspection business. Utilizing the member website, NAMHI.ORG, as well as holding virtual classes and conferences around the country, NAMHI will open doors that have been for too long closed or difficult for the minority person to gain access. NAMHI’s purpose is to create a support system for these inspectors that until now did not exist. Too often minority men and woman are overlooked and NAMHI wants them to be the focus.
Aiding these minority home inspectors by providing free training, sponsored memberships, exclusive resources and discounts, as well as license preparation are just some of the benefits of being a part of the NAMHI community. It is time to level the playing field so that all people have access to building and developing a successful career as a home inspector.
Right now, NAMHI needs donors to visit NAMHI.ORG and support this cause so we can change the face of the home inspection industry.
“NAMHI creates a seat at the table. You determine how large that table is.”"
