FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BOULDER, Colo. (Oct. 24, 2022) – On October 24, 2022, the Florida Department of Financial Services awarded a contract to InterNACHI® – the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors – to serve as a Wind Certification Entity (WCE) and to provide wind certification analysis in Region 2 under the My Safe Florida Home Program (MSFH Program).
About the Program
Following the 2004 and 2005 hurricane seasons, which resulted in more than $33 billion in insured property damage, the Florida legislature created the MSFH Program to increase the strength of Florida’s homes to mitigate future property damage and/or losses as a result of storm damage.
In 2022, the Florida legislature re-established the MSFH Program to provide up to 125,000 wind mitigation inspections in the next three years in wind-borne debris regions in Florida.
For InterNACHI® Members
InterNACHI® will be hiring solely InterNACHI®-Certified Wind Mitigation Inspectors to perform these inspections.
"I'm thrilled that we were awarded this contract," said InterNACHI® Founder Nick Gromicko. "It will provide Florida InterNACHI® members with millions in additional revenue."
