Inspection Universe welcomes you to a private concert featuring Jimmie Van Zant: Tuesday, Oct 11th from 7:00-9:00pm. Jimmie was born in Jacksonville, Florida – a city known mostly in the music circles as “the home of southern rock royalty.” Jimmie’s father: E.C. Van Zant and his brother, Lacy Van Zant is Ronnie, Donnie and Johnny’s father, linking this famous family together. Jimmie recalls his mother having an upright piano at home where she spent countless hours playing gospel tunes. Jimmie began taking piano and guitar lessons back at age 6. Later, in his teen years, he watched and listened to Ronnie Van Zant and the boys’ rehearse in his living room. He became amazed, mesmerized and drawn to their musical perfection. At this time, this musical pairing was known as “One Percent”, but would later evolve into the legendary Lynryd Skynyrd band.

The Home Inspector IR Course with Peter Hopkins
Peter will be discussing two topics, best practices with thermal imaging for home inspectors and he will be discussing how he increased his inspection revenue by 30% with adding sewer inspections. He will talk about the business side on making money with both of them.
Peter Hopkins has operated a successful home inspection company since 1996 (www.inspecdoc.com) and has personally performed over 7000 property inspections. The company expanded into infrared in 2005, with the opening of SoCal Infrared (www.socalinfrared.com) and has found success in many areas of diversification. He is the Co-Founder of United Infrared (www.UnitedInfrared.com), a national network of contract thermographers which includes application-specific training and business coaching in a multitude of applications related to infrared technology and other vision technologies like sewer cameras. Peter is a Level III Certified Thermographer, ICC Code Certified Building Inspector, Electrical Inspector and Certified HERS Energy Rater. of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) since1990 and a member of the
Great Lakes Chapter of ASHI (GLC) since 1991. He has held numerous volunteer
positions in both organizations including: president of the GLC in 1997-1998,
Master Inspector by Review® and the President of ASHI in 2007. Frank won the

Since 1992, Mr. Pearson has written many risk management articles for various Home Inspector Associations. Mr. Pearson is also on the board of directors for the American Inspectors Institute and is also their insurance advisor. Mr. Pearson is also, the insurance advisor to the California Real Estate Inspectors Association and the National Association of Home Inspectors. In September of 2000, Mr. Pearson started lecturing at various and regional association conferences on risk management, insurance, business formation and other related topics. Mr. Pearson attended college at the US Naval Academy and the University if Minnesota. He also served in Vietnam in the United States Navy.

The purpose of this class is to prepare the home inspector for the entry into the field of thermal imaging. From reviewing the evolution of the building industry's use of infrared technology and how today's market is responding to the knowledge that thermal imaging reveals during a home inspection. The class teaches the inspector how the camera sees sub-surface temperatures and how to select a camera that will fit the needs of the inspectors plans. Multiple infrared images will be studied in order to gain an insight of how to capture these images and to discern
what the building is revealing in the details that are seen. Marketing ideas and report writingissues are included in this class as well.
