Goal:
The goal of this course is to teach the student how to inspect heating, ventilating, and air conditioning HVAC systems and components, including related safety issues.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- identify the different types of standard fuels for heating;
- identify the various types of heating and cooling systems;
- explain how a heating and cooling system functions;
- determine the general safety risks of related to HVAC systems;
- identify parts of a fireplace;
- communicate the safety issues associated with HVAC systems;
- perform an inspection related to HVAC;
- generate observations related to inspecting HVAC systems and components; and
- produce written reports related to observations conducted at a house.
