InterNACHI® Inspectors Can Now Inspect Greystone Homes: Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
InterNACHI® Prevails in Dispute Against Greystone Construction
BOULDER, Colo. (May 20, 2019) – Attorneys working on behalf of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors have confirmed that Greystone Construction will now allow InterNACHI® inspectors to inspect their new-construction homes.
Greystone's policy up till now has been to not only recommend but also require only ASHI members to perform home inspections for their clients. As the result of our legal team's cease-and-desist letter, Greystone responded, "All references to ASHI will be deleted from our contracts going forward."
This victory comes on the heels of another recent win for InterNACHI® inspectors, who were previously barred from inspecting new builds constructed by Adams Homes of Georgia. Read the press release here.
Attorney Katy Furr of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, P.C., in Atlanta has been representing InterNACHI® in matters in which homebuilders' inspection policies have precluded home buyers from hiring InterNACHI® home inspectors. She'll continue to pursue such policies that unfairly discriminate against InterNACHI® Certified Home Inspectors.
If you know of a builder, governmental agency, or other entity that appears to prohibit InterNACHI® inspectors from inspecting homes, or if you know of such an entity that specifically encourages members of different associations by name while excluding InterNACHI's, please email fastreply@internachi.org with any information so that we can take steps to have our legal team rectify the situation.
