Goal:
The goal of this course is to teach students how to understand disease vectors and pests as factors related to household health.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to understand:
- describe vectors of diseases
- list common pests found in unhealthy housing
- summarize the cons of having rodents present
- explain the problems associated with termites
- outline a way to reduce mosquito populations
- describe features of housing codes
- perform an inspection related to code issues
- generate observations related to healthy housing
- produce written reports related to observations conducted at a house
