Happy 2018! We are off to a good start and I know every is looking for another great year.
SEW-InterNACHI Meeting

The meeting start at 6:00 p.m.
This is the first meeting of the year and also chapter dues will be collected so don't miss it.
The dues for the chapter are $50.00 for the year
which gets you discounted monthly meetings as well as discounted
seminars throughout the year. Look for some new stuff this year as
well.
I have been puzzled for a long time
now and what to get your feedback. Many of you are InterNACHI members
who do not attend the monthly meetings or the 2 annual seminars we have
had every year for the past 8 years. I would like to know why you are
not attending or what we can do to make it worth your while.
Our
chapter is one of the most active chapters in InterNACHI throughout the
United States and we would like to see more of you at the events both
monthly and the Saturday Seminars.
The cost of the monthly meeting is $25.00 for non-members and $20 for members.
This includes dinner and the meeting. This covers your meal and the
meal for our speaker for the night as well. Since we do not pay our
speakers to speak the least we can do is give them food for both
speaking and showing up. Hopefully they will receive some referral
business from us in the future. It is a win/win for all.
Throughout
the year our goal is to have as many trades people teach us on things
we should be looking for, things that we should know or know more about
as well as
"maybe"
recommend them to our clients. You should try to create a list of
trades people who are reliable and also someone you can call when you
need help. You goal should be the go to person your clients come
call.
(This will get you more referrals)
It is all about referrals and the more you can educate your clients and realtors the more referrals you should be receiving.
The
monthly meetings are a great way for everyone to learn. With that in
mind, if you have any topics you want to learn more about or know anyone
who would be willing to speak to a group please let us know.
Electrical always seems to be an area where you as an inspector find
some crazy stuff and can be an area where you need more knowledge. So this month we will we discussing electrical.
Our
speaker this month is very knowledgeable in the electrical field and
has presented to us in the past. DJ Skelding has been very helpful for
me and I really appreciate everything.
I know
that she will be able to bring you information from the home inspectors
perspective as she is an inspector herself. We will have an electrical
panel that we are going to be taking a look at and discussing what we
find and what we should be writing in our reports on what we find.
