We are pleased and excited to announce that our speaker this month will be David Kinter, CBO. David is the Chief Inspector for Forsyth County, Georgia.
He will address current regulations for new homes, deck regulations and, briefly, upcoming changes for 2014.
There was a table discussion that we are not code inspectors so we have asked that he address these issues as we may need to report problems to our clients as 3rd party inspectors. I think we are all becoming increasingly aware that the need for us to know and understand ICC codes as they apply to a home we are inspecting is more important than ever before! No longer can we go in a home and simply turn the lights on and off, check the faucets and appliances and call it done. I believe that a speaker with David's knowledge and background will benefit us all. If you have specific questions you would like to see addressed, please email them to Ray at this address so we may let him know what they are.
As a reminder to everyone, we would like to start the meeting between 6:30-7:00, so please arrive early enough to place your dinner order and eat before we start. Let us know if you are planning to attend as there will be printed handouts. If we do not know you are coming, there may not be enough printed.
