Ed Hegwood has been in the commercial/industrial Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) field for 43 years, the last 20 years as an HVAC systems specialist.
An extensive industry education in HVAC related subjects was earned in service management positions both with Trane and Carrier. Ed has also worked in both technical and management positions for several highly successfully independent service contractor organizations.
Ed served on numerous industry committees: chairperson of the Science Advisory Board on ozone depleting compounds for the City and County of Denver, the steering committee for the Colorado State Board of Health Air Pollution Control Division, and the ADHOC refrigeration code committee to the City and County of Denver.
He has designed and implemented over a 700 operation and maintenance plans for commercial buildings in the US. Ed has been involved in energy efficiency studies in commercial buildings since the early 1980's and has participated in or managed more than 400 projects.
Ed is the instructor of record for the Commercial Building Energy Coach Program at Red Rocks Community College/The Learning Source and teaches advanced classes in Green HVAC.

Military:
Ed served in U.S. Air Force 1971 - 1975, and then 17 years in the Air Force Reserves and retired as the Chief of Operations 302nd Civil Engineers Peterson AFB, Colorado.
CMSgt. Hegwood has designed and implemented over a 300 operation and maintenance plans for military buildings in the US, England, Germany and South Korea. Chief Hegwood has been involved in energy efficiency studies in military buildings since 1974 and has participated in or managed more than 100 projects.
