Special Resolution to amend the bylaws
Association Bylaws and Constitution, ?Article 15.1 Bylaws may be rescinded, altered or added
to by a "Special Resolution".?
It is proposed to revise Article 1 by changing the definition of ?Full Member?
The proposed revisions will be voted on as a special resolution at the 2014 Annual General
Meeting, October 27, to be held at the Quality Inn in Red Deer.
1.1 There shall be three categories of membership;
Full Member, Student Member and Associate
Member.
1.1.1. Full Member; All members in good
standing and have passed the final exams1 and
peer review or have been members since before
2011.09.01.
1.1.2. Student Member; Members that have not
yet passed the final exam and the peer review.
Members in this category shall have full voice and
vote at duly constituted meetings.
1.1.3. Associate Member; Membership granted to
individuals that are associated with home
inspection. Members in this class will have a
voice but no vote at any duly constituted meeting

1.1.1 Full Member; All members in good standing
who hold a current valid Home Inspector's license
issued by Service Alberta under the Home
Inspection Regulation.

The purpose of the change is to promote expansion of Alberta ACHI membership by allowing home
inspectors already licensed by Service Alberta to join and assume full membership status without being
required to do any further training or provide proof of training beyond what they needed to do or show
Service Alberta in order to get licensed under the Alberta Home Inspection regulation.
A secondary purpose is to ensure that all members with voting rights are actively engaged in the home
inspection industry in Alberta and have met and continue to meet the requirements of the Alberta Home
Inspection regulation.
Note that members who wish to get CCHI certification must complete, or receive credit for having
completed all the requirement for the CCHI to the satisfaction of the Education Director.
