Goal:

The goal of this course is to teach students about indoor air pollution, the presence of toxic substances in a house, and how to safely handle and lower exposure to pollutants and toxic materials.  

Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • relate biological pollutants to serious health effects
  • describe types and causes of allergies
  • list causes of mold and health effects of exposure
  • differentiate types of chemical pollutants 
  • identify other types and sources of toxic materials

  • generate observations related to healthy housing
  • produce written reports related to observations conducted at a house
