Scott Gilligan becomes Vice President of InterNACHI.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

BOULDER, Colo.  (Jan. 21, 2010) --  The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors is pleased to announce that Scott Gilligan has been appointed its new Vice President.

Scott is a Certified Master Inspector and owner of Accuracy Assured Home Inspections in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (www.accuracyinspections.com). He has an extensive background in the building trades, as well as in the inspection industry. Scott is also founder and president of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of InterNACHI, which has hosted several Continuing Education events in the past. Scott is a member of the International Association of Certified Indoor Air Consultants, the Environmental Solutions Association, the Indoor Air Quality Association, and the American Industrial Hygiene Association. His primary business is conducting residential and commercial inspections, and he also performs environmental inspections and sampling on a regular basis.

Scott holds an EPA 608 Universal Certification for air-conditioning and refrigeration systems, is a Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture-Certified Pesticide Applicator, and is certified and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to conduct radon measurements. He is planning to obtain a degree in Environmental Health and Safety.

Scott’s previous careers include working as a welder and an assistant welding instructor.  He founded and was president for two years of a student chapter of the American Welding Society. He has also worked as a commercial diver and has performed hundreds of inspections and repair work on bridges, dams, docks, and other marine structures across the Eastern Seaboard. Scott was also a general contractor and a building maintenance engineer for commercial buildings.

Recently, Scott has been working to educate local home inspectors in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania about the proposed licensure legislation. He conducted an email campaign to inform them about the Pennsylvania state senate bill, and compiled suggestions on how to improve the bill’s language so that it will be fair for current inspectors, and those just entering the profession.

Please join us in welcoming Scott to his new role with InterNACHI!  We wish him well, and expect him to continue making a positive contribution to the inspection industry.
