Some important updates about the Pennsylvania Home Inspection profession:

Pennsylvania InterNACHI members save big on Error and Omissions insurance.  Paying too much for E&O? InterNACHI members get huge discounts on E&O insurance. Our insurer, AIG, has an A.M.Best rating of A++ superior, the highest rating, enjoyed by only 6.7% of all insurers! Because of the unique professionalism and expertise of the InterNACHI membership, we were able to negotiate improved terms and a substantial discount for this important coverage. This is a proprietary product, available exclusively to InterNACHI members, through our exclusive Broker, Towers Perrin, and sold through a portal right on InterNACHI’s website. They gave this discount exclusively to InterNACHI members because InterNACHI members are the best inspectors in the world and deserve to pay much less than non-members. Visit www.nachi.org/eo for more information.

The Western PA InterNACHI Chapter meeting is coming up in Pittsburgh on July 28th.  Everyone is welcome. You need not be a member of InterNACHI to attend. Our speakers will be our attorney Brad Dornish on limiting liability, Chapter President Larry Ott on mold inspections, Chapter V.P. Dave Seaholm on septic system dye testing and Herman Layman of U.S. Micro Solutions on advanced indoor environmental quality inspections. Our W.PA Chapter meets every month. Visit http://www.wpanachi.org for more information.

PHIC loses in court again. InterNACHI wins!  PHIC, the fake organization that has been scamming our fellow home inspectors out of mentoring fees had to stop lying about InterNACHI. In a June 13th, 2005 ruling, Judge Thomas G. Gavin struck down PHIC. His ruling ended with the following words “Finally, there is no indication that Plaintiffs (PHIC and Joe Kelly) are authorized to enforce the Home Inspection Law.” Visit www.nachi.org/phicscam for more information.

Pennsylvania is now InterNACHI’s second strongest market.  InterNACHI has 6 local PA chapters and 617 members in Pennsylvania. This makes Pennsylvania InterNACHI’s second largest state in terms of membership behind only Florida which has over 1100 InterNACHI members. Go PA InterNACHI!

Western Pennsylvania inspectors, come on over to Ohio!  InterNACHI’s Ohio State Chapter invites you to join them for a "Night with Nick" November 12th. Visit www.OHnachi.org for more information.

Pennsylvania State home inspection registration legislation.  InterNACHI is pushing through legislation in Pennsylvania nearly identical to the legislation we had enacted into law recently in North Dakota, a state which uses InterNACHI’s Inspector Examination.

Pennsylvania inspectors can attend the largest inspection event of the year for free. Each year, InterNACHI allows members of one state to attend its national convention for free. This year InterNACHI has chosen Pennsylvania. All Pennsylvania inspectors (not just InterNACHI members) are invited to the InterNACHI convention in Orlando Florida, February 4th-8th, 2006, at no charge. Last year had 850 inspectors in attendance, 6 running classes providing three full days of continuing education, and 45 industry vendors. For 2006 we will have 105 vendors and over 2,500 inspectors in attendance. InterNACHI and PRO-Lab will be giving out a free 2006 F-150 pickup truck to one lucky attendee. Don’t miss it. Visit www.nachi.org/convention2006 for more information next week.
