Wanted to let you know that the Santa Rosa County Board of Realtors Home Expo, which the Northwest Florida Home Inspectors’ Association (NWFHIA), an InterNACHI Chapter, took part in, was a tremendous success.
The Expo drew several hundred visitors vendors and our table was right on the main concourse. Shows like this helps to educate the public concerning what we do as home inspectors and also puts us in touch with local business so that we can network and let them know that we are there to provide inspection services for their clients.
We provided, as a door prize, a intricately tooled chest that is suitable as a large jewelry or display case or as a fine tool chest. Our member, Joe Lyvers was in charge of that aspect of the show and it came off perfectly. The chest drew a lot of attention to our table and helped us to interact when the attendees stopped to inspect it.
We have tentatively arranged to do a comprehensive multi inspector inspection at a vacant home that is currently on the market. The individual inspectors will be assigned to inspect certain components of the home and then be critiqued by the other inspectors upon completion. It will be a great learning tool and help all the inspectors to be able to perform their jobs a little better. One of our members, Harold Weise, is in charge of setting the inspection up and it will take the place of our December monthly meeting.
Thank you for providing the InterNACHI brochures and the microwave testers. They were very popular and they are all in the hands of the general public and potential clients. Also, thanks for posting the event at the main InterNACHI web site.
With the success garnered from this show we are looking forward to the larger spring home expo show that will be sponsored by the local Home Builders Association.
