IAQ Resources Canada News Release: InterNACHI Approves IAQ Resources Canada as a Continuing
Education Provider
InterNACHI members can now earn continuing education hours when they take IAQ Resources
Canada (IAQRC) courses. IAQRC provides specialized training and products on the
topics of indoor air quality and housing durability to a broad range of public
and private sector professionals across North America.
The three courses in the IAQRC IAQ and Housing Durability Series help housing
professionals increase their decision-making and on-the-job skills. Real life,
visual case studies, practical approaches and resources that participants can
use immediately are the focus in all sessions. Courses can be taken individually
or consecutively as a series. Each course (described below) provides 7 hours of
eligible training.
Resolving IAQ and Housing Durability Concerns: The Essentials looks at causes
of and solutions for indoor air quality and housing durability concerns. The session
explains basic building science, pollutant sources, health issues, moisture, mold
and other biological or chemical problems.
Investigating IAQ and Housing Durability Concerns: An Efficient Method demonstrates
practical tools, techniques and checklists to perform a simplified, systematic,
building science-based investigation to identify IAQ and housing durability concerns.
Participants learn how to conduct a brief, effective investigation, consider observations
and create an action plan for the client. This type of investigation is a perfect
value-added element for any home inspector.
Mold Assessment and Clean-Up: Residential, The Essentials focuses on breaking
down the process of assessing and cleaning up residential mold contamination into
13 manageable tasks. This course will help participants provide added value to
