Update June 11th, 2004:  InterNACHI purchases 717 more websites.

The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors is solidifying its market dominance of the internet.  InterNACHI recently purchased over 1400 websites and domain names (like those above).  Each is being converted to a home inspector search engine for InterNACHI members.  These will be actual separate websites not just domain names pointing to InterNACHI.  Each website will interlink to all the others making them all rank higher on other internet search engines.  Most are covert (no mention of InterNACHI)

The Internet has become the tool of choice for homebuyers, with nearly three-quarters of buyers logging on to search for houses, new industry figures show.

That's up sharply from the 41 percent of buyers who went online just two years ago when looking for a house, according to the 2003 National Association of Realtors' Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers.

"Almost every home placed on the market today can be found on the Internet, and more buyers than ever are using the Web to search for a home," said NAR President Cathy Whatley.

"Nowadays home buyers do their real estate shopping online.  We want to make sure a InterNACHI inspection is in their shopping cart," said Nick Gromicko, Executive Director of InterNACHI.  "It is too expensive for the individual inspector to advertise enough to have his clients find him.  It is much easier for InterNACHI to find clients for our inspectors." 

UPDATE:  Nick Gromicko and InterNACHI are also vigorously working off-line building RealMatcher.com, an upcoming competitor to Realtor.com.  This new real estate matching service will be free for licensed real estate agents and will direct all home buyers to the InterNACHI inspector nearest the area to which they're moving.
